The Phoenix Effect is a feature length documentary about second
generation Holocaust survivors who grew up in Vineland, NJ after WWII.
The film concludes with the third-generation examining how the transference
of trauma effects the newest generation
of survivors.
"I watched The Phoenix Effect and was quite taken with it.
The humanity in it is palpable. In some ways, dealing with
very real people, as you did, it has taken on a life of its
own. Edith Hirshtal's nephew is a moving study, for example.
The tumble down effects on all the characters are fascinating,
and deeply moving."
